Birds Eye View of Europe by Bangladeshi Civil Servant [Part-1]

After return back from Hawaii in November 2012, I had to face great leadership challenge with my family. One side my new baby and other side my beloved wife. Before an operation doctor identified her reverse baby position and they suggested that we take her to the capital city. As she is from a political family and everybody knows her in the city we decided to admit her in that city hospital. I cannot write what happened and how almighty save us from a tragic situation. Just share with my friends she needed 21 bags of blood, 10-12 doctors board decisions, private helicopter and all of my beloved family and friends’ well wishes. Some friends asked me about more babies, no more; physically she is not fit for any more…………..
Ahila is an encouraging lady, several times she asked me to write blog. I am not writer, this is my first time, please excuse me. I believe one good friend is more than enough. After returning back to Bangladesh, I tried to connect with all and happy to know everybody is doing well in his/her sector.

Asia Pacific leadership program gave me encouragement to better work. In my position last three years I did lot of challenging things. I will share next time. One thing I was disappointed of was the empowerment of women. In my department about 10% lady officers and every year growing first and they all want to stay at head quarters. With consultation with Big Boss we posted 6 dynamic officers in field. Unfortunately 5 officers returned within four months. I talked this issue with Gretchen and request her please EWC take a program that we can use proper utilization of women power.

As a civil servant we have limitation of budget and permission of foreign tour. As I did first Electronic Procurement in my country, I got a chance to do masters at the International Training Centre-ILO, Turin. After coming to Italy I found that Ryain Air, Easy Jet, Vouling airline and ebookers site for cheap airline ticket and I have good friends around the world. I already visited twelve countries in Europe in two and half months and hopefully will visit four more countries. If I get time I will share some ideas with my good friends. Tomorrow I have Research proposal submission and next week a big exam. As I have committed to Ahila for the blog this week and next, I am posting something. I am excited about Rachael’s Marriage ceremony; want to visit our beloved friends who went Fiji. Have a nice day to my beloved friends. Some day somewhere we will be together.

Aloha & Benevento
