Where I am now after APLP?

 Dearest G12 Ohona! Hope all is well with everybody. I am also quite well. Helping me and helping the community. Well, just immediate after the first semester in Hawaii, I returned back to Dhaka and I supposed to go to Western Michigan University for the second semester.  Though I got substantial funding for working as a visiting fellow at the Western Michigan University, but finally I couldn’t make it up due to some of y family issues including my marriage! Ha ha ha…. However, I finally decided to stay in Bangladesh (for second semester) in my previous job as a lecturer in Occupational Therapy. Then, after over seven years of waiting I got married in March, 22, 2013.

I am still in the same job though I tried (after APLP, through last year) for three different leadership positions (coordinator of two projects and Rehabilitation Manager) in my organization.  I was not offered for two different posts out of three as I don’t have any masters’ degree yet. I was offered for a position (early of this month) called Coordinator for School of Orthotics and Prosthetics- responsible for leading a new academic program first even in Bangladesh. But I was not able to accept the offer because I need to stay in Bangladesh for this job at least one year. Actually, I am planning to do my masters in September 2014. 

I have already applied and got offered from some universities (mostly UK and few in USA) for doing masters in Health Planning, Policy and Management/Public Health (except Public Administration at the University of Hawaii). I am now waiting for the outcome of my scholarship application, which will come through from time between May-July.  I changed my career plan after APLP, previously, I was focused on occupational therapy teaching which in now health management/public health.

By the way, I faced some difficulties (while applying for my masters programs) using APLP as an academic certificate qualification. Majority of the universities wanted a transcription of the program but as you know we don’t have any transcription yet for APLP. So, later on I used it as just a fellowship. It is just a situation with you all.

Beside my regular job, I am involving doing and publishing research. After coming back from Hawaii, three of my researches have been published. Research is limiting my amusement in many ways. I am sorry, I supposed to post every week but couldn’t due to my boring research.  

However, finally, I hope to see you all in someday, somewhere !!!
